The time is soon coming to say goodbye to these MECA Forums, and move to a full new MECA Web experience. In order to make the site content more manageable by Steve and event directors, we're moving to a new web platform based on a product called DotNetNuke. The new MECA Web site (version 6) has been under construction for some time now, and I'm getting some finishing touches done over the next few days.
This will mean a couple of things:
- We'll have a whole new set of MECA Forums. I know most of you will probably hate this because you'll have to create new logins, lose your post counts, etc., but it's necessary for integration with the rest of the system.
- We'll have new Event Blogs, blogs for use by the MECA Event Directors to talk about their events and give feedback to members in the region.
- A new MECA Merchandise storefront to purchase all of your MECA Swag.
- Some other cool new stuff that is coming soon (like your own personal profile page where you can post pictures and information about yourself, etc.)
So, when the switch is flipped later this week, you'll see a whole new MECA Web site and have to register a new account to get the most out of it. You'll also notice that there's lots of stuff missing for the time being. Given that I have a full time job (with ever increasing responsibilities) and a wife and 3 kids, there are only so many hours in the day to get stuff up. Hopefully, that will be helped with Steve being able to post things on his own.
These forums WILL remain up, but posting will be turned off.
